Hyper Godzilla 2002

Hyper Godzilla 2002

Issued in late 2001 to coincide with the December release of Godzilla - Mothra - King Ghidorah, the five figures, an addition to Bandai's 4" Hyper candy series, retailed for 300 each. Of the five figures, four are new molds. Only the Godzilla '54 is a reissue, last seen in the 1998 Hyper set and 1999's Godzilla History figure set.

The front of the boxes each depict the enclosed toy, while the back shows assembly instructions. Of the two sides, one shows the five toys in the set while the other depicts a group photo, as well as pricing and logos. The top has the name of each character. The toys are each a soft, hollow vinyl and assembly is, of course, required.

The 4 inch candy series are all closely related to the Bandai figure sets, as molds are often used interchangably between the two, though there are often significant paint differences. An example would be the Godzilla 1954, linked to below, which also appears in the Godzilla History Set.
