Godzilla 1992 (Bato-Goji)
The 1992 BATO-Goji was released in conjunction with Godzilla vs. Mothra, and went on to be reissued twice, first as RADO-Goji and finally as 1994's MOGE-Goji. In 1995 it was succeeded by a new mold, that of the Burning Godzilla, which itself was reused numerous times. The primary way to tell the difference between the various issues of the figure is via the tag, as all three have the original 1992 copyright date on the foot. The BATO-Goji tag also features the photo from the theater poster, while the two later issues have images from the artwork-style advance posters; the RADO-Goji tag featuring Godzilla v. MechaGodzilla and the MOGE-Goji tag having that of Godzilla v. SpaceGodzilla, as well as a photo of Godzilla himself.Insofar as actual mold and paint differences, the BATO-Goji is molded in charcoal grey, while the subsequent releases were black. It also has silver dorsal spines, while the reissues were are metallic blue in tone. The MOGE-Goji is also molded in soft vinyl; the earlier two in hard vinyl. This article goes into both similarities and differences in great depth.
