The Bandai Memorial Box was issued in 1995 in conjunction with Godzilla v. Destoroyah. Featuring many of the more popular Bandai from past years, these reissued figures, upon detailed examination, differ in various ways from their original counterparts, sometimes in a dramatic fashion. There were only 3000 Memorial Box Collections pressed. None of the figures could be purchased individually, though many of the boxes have been broken apart and the figures sold seperately. As a result, a complete, unopened boxed set of 14 figures can come with quite a price tag. In fact, the box itself is the most difficult piece in the set to acquire. The box itself is a very cool piece. The front features the advance poster art for Godzilla v. Destoroyah, a theme that continues across all sides of the case. One side has the artwork from the Japanese one-sheets for each of the Showa (1954-75) films, while the loop other side sports the advance artwork for each of the Heisei (1984-95) films, as well a group shot of the Memorial figures. The back of the box sports the advance artwork for Godzilla (1984) which, along with the G v Dest. art on the front nicely bookends the Heisei films. As if to accentuate the point, the artwork from the final films are once again pictured, here along the bottom of the image. The text is in English. The box top has text in both Japanese and English. Note also the plastic carrying handle. The bottom features predominately English text.
